Since 2007, I’ve been creating interactive PDF forms. However, it was in 2019 that I shifted my focus to accessibility. All the forms I’ve built since 2019 have been designed with accessibility in mind, and I’ve ensured they meet the standards by using Adobe Acrobat Reader’s Accessibility Checker in WACG 2.0 compliance. This change marks a significant step in my commitment to creating accessible content.

Diverse Applications, United by Accessibility: In my career, I have made significant contributions to the Aboriginal health sector, designing over 80 culturally sensitive and user-friendly forms for a range of events, from workshops and summits to board meetings, addressing topics like chronic and mental health, alcohol, other drugs, and sexual health. Additionally, I’ve managed enrolment and membership applications for the Aboriginal Health College. At icare, my portfolio includes critical forms such as EFT Claims, Injured Person Lodgement, and Permanent Impairment Claims, with some documents, like the Dust Diseases Grants Program Application Form, exceeding ten pages. All of these adhere to strict accessibility standards, ensuring they meet the needs of a diverse range of users.

Technical Expertise: I initially used Xara Designer Pro and later Adobe InDesign for form design, finalising them in Adobe Acrobat. I employ JavaScript to add interactive features like hidden sections, realtime word counters and field calculations.

Cultural Sensitivity: My experience with the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council of NSW has enhanced my ability to integrate cultural respect into each design, ensuring accessibility and cultural sensitivity.
